Psychometric Features of the Patient Evaluation Measure in Iranian Individuals With Wrist Disorders

Objectives: The patient evaluation measure (PEM) evaluates the hand health profile. Having an appropriate measurement tool for assessment of outcomes in Iranian individuals with wrist disorders is essential clinical and research settings. objective present study was to examine psychometric features PEM disorders. Methods: Ninety were recruited. Hand outcome evaluated PEM, quick-disabilities arm, shoulder, (Q-DASH), visual analogue scale-pain (VAS-P), JAMAR hand-grip dynamometer. translated into Persian. Face, content, convergent validity examined. Also, acceptability, internal consistency, test-retest reliability, absolute reliability calculated. Results: All questions had item impact score CVR >1.5 >0.42, respectively. except question 1 (CVI=0.76) 10 (CVI=0.73) section B a CVI <0.79. After changes applied, these (question 1=0.83; 10=0.87) reached acceptable criteria. total showed significant moderate correlation Q-DASH (ρ=0.51; P<0.001) VAS-P (ρ=0.55; insignificant weak grip strength (ρ=-0.11; P>0.05). Floor ceiling effects 0% score. Cronbach’s α intra-class values 0.72-0.87 0.96-0.98, Discussion: suggests that has measuring performance satisfaction This might contribute as routine assessments practice.
